6 Reasons Why Learning Football and Playing Sports Benefit Your Child

Updated: Jan 31, 2020

At Kick It Kindies camps, we are lucky enough to be able to share our knowledge and love of football and sport in general with our participants. Our attendees have a great time, learn a fun sport, make new friends, and develop healthy habits.

Some parents, however, who have not experienced our camps or other similar opportunities for their kids to play ball may remain hesitant.

For them, we offer a few reasons why playing sports will help their children now and as they grow.

Teaches Lifelong Healthy Living Habits

Getting kids involved in sports early encourages them to enjoy the kind of play that develops good health. Kids who fall in love with a sport and keep playing it are less likely to develop childhood obesity, which can lead down the road to dangerous conditions such as type 2 diabetes.

Most will carry these habits well into adulthood.

Learn a Fun Sport and a Positive Attitude

Most agree that football is fun, fast-paced, and full of excitement. Kids love it because they can learn the rules and basic skills easily.

Kick It Kindies football camps emphasise sportsmanship and playing the right way. This keeps the drills and games fun for all whilst cultivating positive attitudes that they can carry for life.

Sports Instil Discipline and Work Ethic

When kids learn to love a sport, they naturally want to get better at it. Our coaches teach drills and skills that they can use to improve after the camp ends.

The desire to improve, combined with the tools to do so, inspires kids to work on their game. As they see improvement, it builds determination. Work ethic and discipline learned in the process can help them to accomplish their dreams.

Football Teaches How to Work with Others

It’s a cliche that “teamwork makes the dream work.”

But it’s also true.

When kids learn sports at the youngest age possible, they learn how to work and get along with others whilst pursuing a common goal. Kick It Kindies camps strive to reinforce this important life skill.

Develops Both the Mind and Body

Learning to love playing sports, or even just being active outside, develops a foundation for lifelong health.

According to experts, active kids develop stronger bones and muscles, manage weight better, develop healthier minds, and are more resistant later in life to dangerous conditions such as heart disease.

Kick It Kindies camps can help develop a lifelong commitment to healthier living.

It’s a Sure Fire Way to Have Fun

Let’s not leave out a vital point. Learning football the right way is an exciting way to have fun.

And we have fun with the kids as well. It’s such a joy to share our passion for the sport with so many eager learners. We will always place fun as our first priority.
